Democratising software for social care.
Care Connect have ‘democratised’ our software to help independent organisations deliver their own high-quality carer introduction service without creating the tech themselves.
Care Connect is a carer introduction service that matches local carers to care seekers within their community. With 1.4 million people in the UK going without the daily care and support needed to live well at home, this platform provides an entry point to care management for people seeking care for themselves or their loved ones; whilst also supporting carers with information, advice, training and access to a support network.
Currently in its pilot phase, Care Connect is helping a number of organisations to fill gaps in the provision of home care and support in neighbourhoods. Both the 'care seeker' and the 'care provider' are supported by 'care connectors': mission-driven organisations who wish to provide a carer introductory service in their area.
As a regulated care provider, Care Connect certifies all care connectors and provides them with high levels of support and training. When certified, care connectors provide a safe and secure brokerage service to their community.
We often hear of a ‘crisis in care’ but not about what we - as individuals and communities - can do about it. Care Connect can help organisations across the UK to recruit and retain unregulated carers in areas where there is market and provider failure. Working closely with Made Open, we have created an innovative online platform that increases choice and control for people drawing on care services; and that makes the most of community assets to find, attract and support a local care workforce.

By democratising our software, care connectors can now recruit and manage their own care seekers and care workers. They can upload their care plans, manage work rotas and shift booking functions - all within their own Care Connect microsite. Third-party scheduling software enables the host organisation to manage payments and billing - to monetise their service.
This is a crucial element for many community organisations as they need to ensure that their services can also generate revenue to support vital 'free' services such as befriending.
