An experienced service designer, researcher and creative problem solver, Kathryn leads our Design Services team - developing solutions to social challenges using human-centred design. Her leadership style is collaborative and empowering.
As a service designer, Kathryn is always passionate about making a product, service or experience better to meet the needs of the end-user or customer. This extends to our own community platform where she champions our commitment to user experience.
Since co-founding Made Open, Kathryn has created solutions to tackle a range of issues such as falls in older people, mental health, loneliness, drowning, autism stigma, child poverty and debt. She understands issues affecting UK communities.
She also understands the “design and innovation” landscape having worked with renowned think-tanks and policy influencers such as The Design Council, The RSA, Policy Lab (at the Cabinet Office) and The European Centre for Environmental Health.
Mum to two high energy boys, Kathryn spends her free time ... well, actually, she doesn't have any free time. But she does enjoy dancing, walking and spending time at the beach with friends and family.
