Design and technology for
healthier communities

Because healthier communities start with better services, user-centred design and superior technology.

Your community already has a huge amount to offer.

People, organisations, services, activities and spaces are already there. What's missing is the thread between them: support sits in silos, small groups stay invisible, and residents give up looking.

That costs a place more than money. People stop asking, and the help that would have made a difference sits a street away.

We help bring it together.

How we do it

Three stages, using our 5Ps Connected Communities framework to understand what's needed, whether you're a community organisation, council or NHS trust.

Step 1

Purpose and People

We start by understanding what your community already has, what stakeholders actually need, and the outcomes you're aiming for.

Step 2

Partners and Process

We agree how partners share responsibility for the platform, and the shared measures that show the impact it's having.

Step 3

Platform

Where new solutions are needed, we provide the software, content and support to make our platform work in your community.

Devon Connect

Devon Voluntary Action

Devon Connect helps local people find nearby activities, services, groups and volunteering. Open to all, it is quietly transforming how Devon connects.

Devon Connect is the one-stop shop but with a human touch. It’s been a fantastic journey and we’ve been supported brilliantly by Made Open.

Finding our place

Community life can be complicated. There are lots of people, organisations, activities and opportunities around us, but finding the right ones isn't always easy. We’re evolving Made Open to make that simpler, bringing together search, browsing and recommendations to help people find what they need, explore what’s available and discover things they didn’t know existed.
