What if all organisations were given the opportunity to contribute and create value to a community platform?
At Made Open, this isn’t just a concept - it’s something we’re helping our clients put into practice. Broadly speaking, we define partnerships in three distinct categories:
Co-delivery partners
Partners that run programmes or services through the platform.
Referral partners
Partners who direct users to the platform, expanding its reach.
Knowledge partners
Partners who provide research, funding or content.
Of course, it’s not enough to simply ask for partners. Partners need to feel they’re gaining something valuable in return. For our clients, this means offering:
- Impact reporting: creating bespoke reports to show how the platform is making a difference to a partner.
- Enhanced visibility: partner spotlights, co-branded campaigns, sub-homepages and event promotions.
- Specialist services: advanced tools and services to help partners (and their staff) engage with the platform.
Equally, our clients must be thoughtful when selecting partners. Granting an organisation ‘partner status’ only holds value if they are actively contributing; otherwise, it quickly becomes an empty title.
For our clients, this often means carefully choosing partners with a similar cause, who they know will be proactive and with whom they can create mutually-beneficial collaborations. The idea of our partnerships model is to give partners who engage with the platform a reason to care beyond just goodwill.
