300 volunteers for Bristol reading in schools project

The Bristol Reading in Schools consortium (BRISc) aspires to give all young people in Bristol the best start in life by raising the level of literacy across primary schools.

The consortium used our Can Do Bristol community platform to crowdsource 300 volunteers, with average reading ages of the children improving by 4 months.

600 NHS workers exchanging skills to improve Healthcare

In Spring 2019, we launched Hexitime - a skill exchange and timebank for improving the quality of health and care services across the UK. The potential impact of Hexitime became immediately evident as many useful and meaningful exchanges were completed in the first three months.

Torbay takes timebanking to Florida

Timebankers from Torbay Together in Devon (UK) have swapped time with Florida timebankers (USA) in their first international exchange. On a recent trip to Florida, Ann (70) from Torquay,was met by timebankers from Tampa Bay Time and the Spring Hill Timebank in Florida who offered her a lift to their weekly meeting. They swapped experiences of timebanking in Florida and Devon and Ann introduced the popular hobby of ‘yarnbombing’ to her new fellow timebankers.
