Te Mātāwai

Te Mātāwai, opened by Prime Minister Chris Hipkins on August 3, 2023, is a complex in central Auckland with 276 apartments offering various housing options.

Our platform help new residents by providing information on community activities.

Many newcomers are interested in timebanking, prompting the Te Mātāwai team to plan an event for 2024.

Can Do Bristol

Changes Bristol advertised a volunteering opportunity on Can Do Bristol, seeking support for positive mental health as volunteer peer support group facilitators.

1,288 users saw the opportunity, with 12 pledging to volunteer. Ultimately, 4 people followed through and became volunteer peer support facilitators.

The Can Do website is a fantastic opportunity for potential volunteers to connect with us. We rely on volunteers in order to keep the service running, so it's always really useful to have a space to advertise our volunteering opportunities on a rolling basis.

Volunteers of Levenshulme

Levenshulme Inspire needed bag packers for their food delivery scheme. Gabriel volunteered by lifting heavy bags and crates of food. He logged his 20 volunteering hours on his social impact page, which he printed out for an interview.

I loved volunteering at Inspire. It gave me the confidence to start looking for paid work as I am very shy and have autism. I made lots of friends and hope that I can volunteer again in my spare time now that that I have paid position at the post office.

NHS Talent

Jo Standford, CEO of the Healthcare Project and Change Association (HPCA), posted a coaching offer, focusing in project and change profession career coaching.

Elvis Amadi, an employee at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, noticed Jo's coaching offer for career advancement advice and requested a one-hour session.

It was an engaging session and Jo’s advice has been very instrumental in securing my new role as a Senior Programme Support Officer.

Wiltshire Together

Goldies, a charity that hosts social groups where people come together to sing-a-long to the popular hits of the 50s onwards, posted a volunteering opportunity asking for support with their Sing & Smile sessions at Salisbury Methodist Church.

Angie Street saw the opportunity and pledged to volunteer. Goldies accepted Angie as a volunteer and she went along to the sessions on several dates to help out.

It was fantastic to have Angie supporting the Salisbury Goldies sing-along...we would welcome Angie back any time.

Giles Trendle, a journalist offering coaching to help individuals tackle their own issues, provided Ali Sikandar, who works in digital transformation, with an hour of coaching upon Ali's request.

They documented their session on the platform, and Ali compensated Giles with a credit.

Ali then added his own offer to assist others in recording podcasts by providing necessary tools and software.

November 2022

Qmunity Kenz, a timebanking platform in Qatar, launched a few months ago, has garnered rapid and favorable adoption among its 50 members.

Currently, 10 out of 21 exchanges have been marked as 'complete,' with credits sent. These exchanges include services such as graphic design, medical classes and group coaching.

Connect RCT

September 2022

Between April and June of this year, Connect RCT organised the 'Above and Beyond Awards', aiming to recognise local community and voluntary groups that demonstrated exceptional efforts during the pandemic and reward them with funding.

487 people voted, with Blaenllechau Youth Project securing first place, Follow Your Dreams Charity coming in second and Rhondda Foodbank in third.

Connect Wales

October 2021

Connect platforms throughout Wales invited people to nominate community groups that made a significant impact in their communities.

They utilised the 'poll' feature to collect votes from members to determine which groups would receive a £500 award.

The Shuri Network

Autumn 2021

The Shuri Network Digital Shadowing Programme encouraged healthcare professionals to provide shadowing opportunities to BAME women via a campaign on Hexitime.

This campaign achieved great success, winning the NHS Race Equality Award at the HSJ Awards 2021.

Connect Wales

May 2021

Connect Monmouthshire developed a guide to assist individuals in comprehending timebanking and how they could engage through their platform.

This guide proved so popular that other Connect platforms, including those in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion, decided to adopt it on their platforms as well, expanding its reach to more individuals across Wales.

Torbay Together

January 2021

In 2020, Torbay timebankers united to combat isolation and ensure mutual safety. Residents collaborated to organise weekly shopping for one another and to ensure that everyone on their street had someone to talk to.

Untagged

In just three months, Untagged recruited 225 members who collectively added 300 items of clothing that might otherwise have ended up in landfill. 67% of all items were successfully exchanged with other members.

Can Do Bristol

December 2020

In November 2020, the Can Do team asked for assistance to support those in need across Bristol during the winter.

One month later, with 260 pledges, this story highlights the strong sense of community throughout the city.

The Cornwall Link

December 2020

Age UK Cornwall and The Isles of Scilly initiated a targeted project to enhance practical advice and support for older veterans (aged 50 and above) throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. They've already introduced over 60 activities to provide this support.

Wiltshire Together

Wiltshire Together has a broad membership across the voluntary services sector and is a strong interface between public bodies and charities operating in communities. In its first couple of months, Wiltshire Together has seen its body of members grow rapidly, reaching the 200 members milestone easily.

Can Do Bristol

September 2019

The Bristol Reading in Schools consortium (BRISc) aspires to give all young people in Bristol the best start in life by raising the level of literacy across primary schools.

The consortium used Can Do Bristol community platform to crowdsource 300 volunteers, with average reading ages of the children improving by 4 months.

Torbay Together

May 2019

Timebankers from Torbay Together in Devon, UK, recently participated in their first international exchange with timebankers from Florida, USA.

Ann, a 70-year-old from Torquay, met with timebankers from Tampa Bay Time and the Spring Hill Timebank in Florida. They exchanged experiences of timebanking and Ann introduced the popular hobby of 'yarnbombing' to her new fellow timebankers.

The Cornwall Link

October 2022

Cornwall Link, a directory of services and activities for residents of Cornwall, launched a campaign to share how people struggling with the rising cost of living can find support this winter. 73 activities were added promptly after its launch.
