Introducing Made Open Version 3
On Tuesday the 17th October 2023, we held a webinar open to all our platform customers and adminstrators. The aim was to share our vision and road map for Version 3 of the Made Open community platform software.

Streamlining navigation
Introducing you to a new navigation design. Our aim is make it easier for users to quickly find what they are looking for and perform key tasks.
Simplifying the process for adding activities
We aim to make it easier and quicker for members to add activities. We are proposing to improve the user experience in 2 ways:
- Streamline the current form, removing unecessary fields and condensing three steps into into one.
- Add a 'quick add' form flow to increase engagement and make the process even easier.
Enriching member profiles
We aim to increase member engagement and connectivity with improvements to the member profiles. This new design responds to specific user feedback including:
- Making activities from the member more prominent
- Highlighting badges
- Condensing size of profile tags
- Making it more obvious how to connect and send a message
- Adding member connections to profile
- Adding option to display contact details (with privacy setting controls)
Member associations and verifications
This new feature will give organisations on your platform the ability to link their account with ‘associates’, for example:
- Businesses and organisations want their employees to be able to = associate with them
- Charities or community groups want volunteers to be able associate with them.
This new functionality will be an optional paid-for feature when we launch Version 3. We’d love to get your thoughts.
New 'everything' search
Our new ‘everything’ search has been designed to address feedback that some members are having difficulty finding relevant content on their platforms.
This new search aims to direct members to content from all areas of the site such as activities, members, pages and other features you may have enabled such as guides.
