Pentreath

Pentreath is an award winning charity, based in Cornwall and founded in 1990. We support recovery from mental ill health and develop opportunities for people to meet their potential for happy and productive lives.
We offer outreach, one to one coaching and support to help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be. We have excellent connections to communities and other organisations across the county. We are proud that many of the people delivering support have their own experience of recovery.
Rethink

Search for a local support group in your area.
We know that if people don’t receive the right support, mental illness can destroy their lives. We recognise gaps in service provision and respond to these by developing and delivering services that provide high-quality care and support to people severely affected by mental illness.
Our services keep people living with mental illness safe and well in the community, prevent their needs from escalating, and help them live independently, access the information, support and care they are entitled to, and understand and exercise their rights.
Community Mental Health Services

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of community mental health services to support people over the age of 18 with a severe mental health illness.
Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) are where most people receive support for their mental health problem. They help people to manage and recover from a range of common mental health problems.
CMHTs provide one-to-one, individualised support that may take the form of visits to a person’s home or at a community setting such as a GP surgery.
Kernow Clinical Commissioning Group

To talk to someone about your mental wellbeing you can call the 24/7 NHS mental health telephone support helpline on 0800 038 5300 for advice and triage. Support is available to anyone, regardless of age, all day every day.
If you or someone you know feels they need to access urgent mental health support, they will listen to you and assess how best to help. There are many ways you can keep your mental health fit and well, just as you would your physical health. Having a healthy mind and recognising what to do if you start to have a wobble can help you to avoid getting into a crisis.
Outlook South West

Outlook South West offers mental health therapy for people suffering with stress, low mood and worry.
We provide the Improving Access to Psychological Therapy ( IAPT ) service for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. It is for people aged 16 and above.
Within the service, we have the Healthy Outlook team who work with people who have long-term health conditions. They are trained to help them with the mental health impacts of living with various physical conditions. The four illnesses they currently cover are: diabetes, cardiovascular problems, irritable bowel syndrome and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Sea Sanctuary

Sea Sanctuary is a unique mental health charity and one of the world’s leading exponents of blue health, the concept that ‘blue spaces’, such as the sea, are beneficial for people’s mental and emotional wellbeing.
The Sea Sanctuary team has had years of success combining evidence-based therapies and counselling methods with marine-based activities that give people an invigorating sense of adventure along with the help and support they need to lift their spirits, overcome issues and find their sense of wellbeing.
Man Down

We provide informal peer-support talking groups all over Cornwall for men with mental health concerns. Together we can end the stigma and reduce the number of male suicides in Cornwall.
We offer a very informal, safe and relaxed environment for men of all ages 18+ who are struggling with any kind of mental health issues. Our sessions are designed to be as inclusive as possible with no judgement, only support and understanding from people who can be there to listen and support you.
Cornwall Bereavement Network

NHS professionals, emergency services, hospices, funeral directors, and coroners are often amongst the first points of contact for those recently bereaved. For them, being able to direct the local community to support services means that those who have lost a loved one can source the help they need at a time when they are most vulnerable.
You are not alone. There is assistance out there – you just need to know where to find it.
