Breastfeeding policy

About this policy

We support breastfeeding mothers at work. Our aim is to create a workplace environment where they can continue breastfeeding after returning to work. We encourage all staff to have a positive and supportive attitude toward breastfeeding women.

Our responsibilities

We recognise that supporting breastfeeding is important for the health of both mother and baby. Employees who want to continue breastfeeding after returning to work will receive:

Breaks for breastfeeding or expressing milk

Breastfeeding employees can breastfeed or pump milk during normal breaks and extra lactation breaks (typically 20 minutes, once or twice a day) arranged with their manager. If more time is needed, they can use personal leave or adjust their work hours with manager approval.

A private place to express milk

If possible, a private room (not a restroom) will be provided for employees to breastfeed or pump milk. Employees can also breastfeed or pump in their own private offices or other agreed-upon comfortable locations. Expressed milk should be stored in a personal cooler or, if available, in a designated refrigerator. If this isn't possible, the employee can work from home.

Employee’s responsibilities

Communication with supervisors

Employees who want to breastfeed or pump milk after returning to work should tell their supervisors about their needs. This way, both the employee and the workplace can make suitable arrangements.

Milk storage

Each employee is responsible for storing their own breast milk. It's suggested to use personal cooler bags and a designated refrigerator. If there's no refrigerator, breast milk can be kept at room temperature or in a cooler bag for up to 6 hours.
