Time4Leicestershire is our first ever series of connected community platforms that support independent yet interoperable timebanks in a particular region.
Supported by Leicestershire County Council, the Council's vision is to have an active and thriving timebank in all seven districts of Leicestershire whereby local people can make new friends and connections in their local area.
Over the next few years, we will set up a unique timebank in each district with the option for each district to connect with others as if they were in the same timebank.
The point of having a number of smaller platforms is that each district has its own identity, it’s own energy, activities, people and practices. The Council understand that local residents are unlikely to recognise the county of Leicestershire as their community. That’s the town or village where they live, that they call home, where they meet up with friends and say hello to their neighbours. These micro platforms mirror that sense of community.
Each platform will also be connected to an overarching county platform with access to countywide guides and information as well as the option to share offers and requests across neighbourhoods. This makes it possible for timebanks to have the outreach of extended timebanks while keeping the spirit and identity of their own local timebank intact.
