I am one of three Wellbeing Coordinators covering the Rhondda Valley area. Wellbeing Coordinators provide an holistic approach in supporting people with non-medical issues such as finance, housing and loneliness and isolation in order to improve their wellbeing.
The role focusses on having a “what matters to you?” conversation with people to identify their needs and what is important to them. They are then linked to the best support available in the community, this could be through a third sector, statutory organisation or a local support or activity group.
Wellbeing Coordinators are based in GP practices and other community settings throughout the Rhondda Valleys. People can be referred into the service by their GP or other professional or they can self-refer.
