Accidents and incidents

Made Open emphasises the importance of maintaining detailed records of accidents, near misses, or dangerous occurrences to comply with statutory obligations, particularly those outlined in RIDDOR.

All employees are obligated to report such incidents immediately, with reports to the Enforcing Authority being made by the company with input from the Health and Safety Officer (HSO).

Accident and near miss reporting procedures involve immediate notification to the HSO, recording incidents in an accident book, and conducting investigations to identify causes and prevent reoccurrences, while ensuring legal compliance.

We provide staff with information and equipment for fire safety and collaborate with inspections to maintain safety standards.

Substance misuse policy

Made Open acknowledges the impact of substance misuse on health, social functioning and work performance. Substance misuse is defined as inappropriate or excessive alcohol or drug use.

Made Open aims to detect and refer employees with alcohol or drug-related issues for treatment, addressing misuse as both a capability and conduct matter.

All employees must report for duty in a fit state, and the Company is committed to preventing illegal drug use on its premises as required by the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

Non-smoking policy
