Member associations

Let individual members link with a group or organisational account with member associations.

This feature is great for connecting employees, volunteers or students to their respective organisations, and it's easy to set up and customise associations (e.g. "I work for...", "I volunteer at...").

Member associations sets the groundwork for employers to measure the aggregated impact of their employees in the future, particularly in employer-sponsored volunteering.

Watch this video to see how to set up member associations on your platform.

What are member associations?

Member associations play a crucial role in fostering collaboration, professional development and advocacy. Our new functionality allows your members to associate themselves with another account. This is particularly useful for employees, volunteers, members, associates or students who want to show their association with an organisation, network or business. This new feature also paves the way for measuring collective social impact in the future.

How to set up member associations

  1. Visit 'platform management' in the CMS and go to 'account types'.
  2. Choose which member account types can be verified* & can set up associations.
  3. Use the cog to edit an account type and check the box enabling 'verifications' and then the box enabling 'assocations'.
  4. Save.

* All members will need to be verified in order to accept associations on their profile.

How to promote member associations

  1. Decide on your criteria for verifying members. Do they all need to have a phone number? Or a profile image? Will you be reference checking them?
  2. Announce the new feature to your members. Message all members and invite them to become the first platform members to get verified and set up member associations.
  3. Emails will inform you when a member has applied for verification – follow the link to approve them.
  4. Review their profile information and follow your own criteria, then click/tap the button to verify their profile.
  5. The member is then in control of managing their own associations.

Announce the new feature to your members

We've just released a new feature on   where you can allow your employees, volunteers, members, associates or students to associate themselves with your account. This feature is freely available for organisations, groups, clubs, services and care homes.

To set it up, simply sign in and head to 'Edit profile'.

You'll see a new option to verify your account and apply for member associations. Select these and our admin team will review your profile. Please note that we will not be able to give member associations to individual accounts, or incomplete profiles.

Once you've been given member associations, our admin team will be in touch with the next steps and how to promote it to your employees, volunteers, members, associates or students.
